Another banana recipe from the book I'm working on:
4 large or 5 small pears
Dash of mixed spice
100g plain flour
100g margarine (such as pure or vitalite)
60g ground almonds
2 tbsps. cocoa powder
1 tsp mixed spice
100g dark chocolate chips
Put oven on to preheat at gas mark 4/180C/350F
Put the flour and margarine in a bowl and rub together until it resembles fine breadcrumbs. Stir in the almonds, sugar, cocoa, mixed spice and chocolate chips
Peel, core and dice the pears and place in a oven proof dish. Slice the bananas and mix in with the pears. Sprinkle with a dash of mixed spice.
Place the crumble topping on top of the pears and banana mixture.
Bake for approx. 20 minutes.
